St. ;Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, December 6, 2008, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Anna Mae Halphen de Launay, 92, who passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at her residence in St. Martinville.
Entombment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville.
Very Rev. Msgr. J. Douglas Courville, JCL will conduct the services.
Anna was a lifelong resident of St. Martinville. She was a member of the Catholic Daughter of St. Martin de Tours. She was an avid bridge player and loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren; they would always bring a smile on her face.
Survivors include her sons, William H. de Launay, Jr. and his wife, Frances of Alexandria, David J. de Launay and his wife, Fern of St. Martinville, Bernard Keith de Launay from St. Martinville, Gerald C. de Launay and his wife, Michelle of Lafayette and Robert F. de Launay of St. Martinville; her daughters, Susan de Launay McBeth of Lafayette and Yvonne T. de Launay of St. Martinville; her grandchildren, Denise Frederick, David J. de Launay, Jr., Yvette Owens, Andre de Launay, Henri de Launay, Nicole de Launay Harris, Heidi LeBlanc, Angelique Long and Lail de Launay; her great grandchildren, Quinn Frederick, Lauren Frederick, Aidan de Launay, Tristyn Briscoe, Jean Paul LeBlanc, Breigh Anna LeBlanc, Armon LeBlanc, Sage de Launay, Grant de Launay, W. Boyd Owens and Addie Owens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. de Launay, Sr.; her parents Amelie Durand Halphen and James F. Halphen, Sr.; her sisters, Nella Burke, Marcelle Smith, Mildred Halphen and Mona Dupuis; her brothers, James F. Halphen, Jr. and Bernard Halphen; her grandson William F. de Launay, III and her son-in-law, Benjamin H. McBeth.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2008 and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Pallbearers will be David J. de Launay, Jr., Andre' de Launay, Henri de Launay and Quinn Frederick.
Honorary pallbearers will be Grant de Launay, Armon LeBlanc, Jean Paul LeBlanc, Sage de Launay, and Adain de Launay.
