Anna Girouard Rutledge

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, June 12, 2008, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Anna Girouard Rutledge, 89, who passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Iberia General Medical Center in New Iberia. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Reverend Fr. Austin Leger, Pastor of St. Martin de Tours Church, will conduct the funeral service. Mrs. Rutledge enjoyed cooking for many of her friends and was a tremendous help to her family during difficult times. ?She helped raise many children and will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her. Survivors include two brothers, Clarence Girouard of Catahoula, and Paul J. Girouard and his wife, Mildred, of St. Martinville; and one sister, Theresa G. Broussard, of Catahoula. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rutledge; her former husband, Fred Dugas; her parents, Albert and Margaret Bourque Girouard; two brothers, Magill and Euclid Girouard; and four sisters, Anastia Lasseigne, Martha Thibodeaux, Evelyn Savoie, and Anne Thevenet. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
