Breaux Bridge – Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, private services will be held for Annette Castille Begnaud, 92, who passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center.
Interment will follow St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Annette worked at Dan Thibodeaux Grocery and also worked as an insurance agent with Security Industrial Insurance. She was the owner of Begnaud's Grocery in Poche Bridge for many years. As a pastime, Annette enjoyed doing ceramics, crocheting, and cooking and baking for her family.
She is survived by her four daughters, Kathy (Walter) Gondron of New Iberia, Anita Begnaud of DeQuincy, Gay Begnaud of Breaux Bridge, and Sheila (Lester Betancourt) Begnaud of Breaux Bridge; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Begnaud; parents, Zacharie and Julie Webre Castille; two brothers, Leland Castille and Ignace Castille; three sisters, Evelyn C. LeBlanc, Inez Landry, and Euline Dwyer; and a grandchild, Chris Gondron.
Pallbearers will be Jarod Begnaud, Matthew Begnaud, Brent Begnaud, Treven Thibodeaux, Gavin Broussard, and Tayden Thibodeaux.
Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren.
Annette’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of St. Agnes Healthcare and Rehab and Alyson Champagne with Hospice of Acadiana, for the care and attention given to her during her time of need.
