Anthony 'Tannie' "Tannie" Alex

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on, Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Anthony "Tannie" Alex, 79, who passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016, at Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7 am until 10 am on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am on Tuesday. Fr. Joseph Campion will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Brianna Jade Alex and Mandy Celestine. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Mr. Alex used to do horse training and racing for many years; being in that environment gave him a sense of peace in his soul. He enjoyed eating and being surrounded by family. He will be remembered for that unique quality of giving and helping anyone in time of need. He is survived by his sons, Michael A. Alex and wife Belinda of Brownsville, TX, David F. Alex and wife Mary of Breaux Bridge, Kenneth L. Alex of Breaux Bridge; daughter, Pamela A. Alex of Lafayette; brothers, Harold Alex of Arnaudville, and John Alex and wife Mary Lou of Breaux Bridge; sister, Paula Chevalier of Breaux Bridge; and grandchildren, Brittany Alex, Keon Alex, Eric Davidson and Brianna J. Alex He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Celestine Alex; his parents, Arthur and Octavia Derousselle Alex; and his siblings, Eva Enard, Beulah Cormier, Evelyn Goody, Hilda Broussard, and Harry Alex. Pallbearers will be Michael A. Alex, David F. Alex, Kenneth L. Alex, Keon Alex, Eric Davidson, and Clarence Broussard.
