Tony was a graduate of Cecilia High School; shortly after graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Flight Mechanic, where he honorably served his country. During his military service, he traveled all over Japan and Brazil and was part of a space program for craft recovery and tracking. After his discharge, he attended trade school where he earned an aircraft mechanic degree. Tony went on to work for Kerr McGee offshore for over 30 years as a mechanic on a production platform.
Tony loved traditional Sunday dinners with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing trips with his father-in-law. Tony took pleasure in the simple things of life like spending time at home, building his 2nd airplane, cutting the grass on his zero-turn mower and cooking on his Coleman grill outdoors. Some of his hobbies were flying - he was a pilot and crop duster - and jogging on his landing strip.
Tony was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lynda Patin Zeringue; daughters, Andrea Z. Degeyter (Monica) and Lori Z. Fontenot; sisters, Anita Blanchard and Betty Pronneke (Marsh); grandchildren, Jace Smith, Kyla Johnson (Josh), Haley Fontenot, Tre Naquin, Katie Naquin, Lola Fontenot and Liam Gardemal; and great-grandchildren, Levi Smith, Allen Francis "AJ" Johnson, Alaia Fontenot and Chloe Fontenot.
