New Iberia - Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Antoine Gene Garber, 89, who passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014, in Lafayette.
Rev. Scott Bullock, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia.
Mr. Garber was born on January 17, 1925 and was retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad. A member of the Lydia United Methodist Church, he was also a member and Past Grand Master of the Jeanerette Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed gardening and was active in several horticulture organizations.
Survivors include his wife, Earlene Duplantis Garber of New Iberia; daughter, Anne Garber Stevens and husband Dennis of New Iberia, LA; two grandsons, Thomas Stevens and wife Heather of Arnaudville, LA, Christopher Stevens of Baton Rouge, LA; granddaughter, Lynn Musumeche and husband Matthew of Broussard, LA; great-grandson, Blake Thomas Stevens.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Euphemie Savoie Garber; brothers, Wilson Garber, and Alexander Garber, sisters, Alma Broussard Garber, and Anita Louise Garber.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lydia United Methodist Church or the Jeanerette Masonic Lodge.
