Jeanerette - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, December 14, 2007, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in Jeanerette for Antoine Clement LeBlanc, Sr., 90 formerly of Jeanerette, who died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in Cut Off, LA..
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Rev. Jody Simoneaux will be the Celebrant. Readers will be Michelle Theriot and Lori Santiny. Gift Bearers include his grandchildren.
A native of New Iberia, Mr. LeBlanc was a resident of Grand Isle and a former resident of Jeanerette. He was an overseer for sugar cane farmers and had worked for Tex-Homa. He enjoyed camping, dancing, listening to French music, and most of all spending time with his family. Mr. LeBlanc was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his sons, Antoine LeBlanc, Jr. and wife Audrey of Galliano, John LeBlanc, Sr. and wife Michelle of Galliano, Michael LeBlanc and wife Roxanne of Grand Isle; daughters, Rosalie Gary and husband Elgene of Grand Isle, Patricia Besson and husband Wallace of New Iberia, Rhonda Luent and husband Leo of Grand Isle, Lori Santiny and husband Patrick of Grand Isle; brother, Whitney LeBlanc and wife Barbara of New Iberia; sisters, Cecile Olander of Jeanerette, Eve Bush of New Iberia; 29 grandchildren including Steve and Sandra Smith of Stephenson, Michigan; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosine Broussard LeBlanc; parents, Clement and Clothilde Legnon LeBlanc; son, Clifford LeBlanc, Sr.; daughter, Theresa LeBlanc; granddaughter, Tina Delcambre.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, from 2:30 PM until 9:15 AM Friday at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Thursday.
