Arnaudville- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m., on Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Antoine Richard, 83, who passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011 at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home. Fr. Gary Schexnayder will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Allie Richard and Wendi Homan. Gift Bearers will be April Judice, Desire Colton, Lindsey Fruge, and McKenzie, Mayah, and Jade Richard. Entombment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Mausoleum. Mr. Richard was a lifelong parishioner of St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 3356. Mr. Richard was retired, but was a carpenter by trade for 25 years prior to his becoming a farmer for 15 years. Survivors include two sons, Mark Richard and his wife, Lisa, of Arnaudville, and John F. Richard and his wife, Michelle, of Youngsville; three daughters, Rose Stelly and her husband, John, Phyllis Cantrell and her husband, Chuck, all of Arnaudville, and Emma Jean Frug and her husband, Harry, of Mansura; 14 grandchildren, April Judice, Alfred Stelly, Marsha Thibodeaux, Wendi Homan, Charlie Cantrell, Desire Colton, Lindsey and Aaron Frug, and Jade, Allie, Bailey, McKenzie, Jack, and Mayah Richard; and 12 great grandchildren, Noah Verret, Luke Judice, Addison and Hunter Thibodeaux, Charlie Thomas, Ella, and Jacob Cantrell, Evan John and Owen Stelly, William Colton, and Kami and Reed Homan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Augustine Boudreaux Richard; his beloved wife of 58 years, Della Chautin Richard; his brothers, Alcee, Alcide, Ernest, Lawrence, Louie, Ellis, Junius, Willie, and Francis Richard; his sisters, Augustine 'Sis' Bergeron and Loraine Richard; and a great granddaughter, Catherine 'Cate' Cantrell. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Charlie Cantrell, Aaron Frug, Noah Verret, Alfred Stelly, Bailey Richard, and Jack Richard. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter and Brent Thibodeaux, Michael Homan, Charles and Luke Judice, Jeff Colton, Matt LeDoux, and his five godchildren, Dottie Olivier, John Dale Chautin, Frankie Richard, John Alvin 'T-Boy' Richard, and Jackie Dupuis.
