Antoinette Mitchell Mason

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Antoinette Mitchell Mason, 82, who passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Saturday. Fr. Gnanavoli Arulsamy SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Sierra Mason, Isaiah Joseph, Teyona Colbert, and Teesha Mason. Gift bearers will be Ms. Antoinette Mason, Monanne Joseph, and Michael Mason. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mrs. Mason enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, and cherished moments spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Henry Mason, Jr. and wife Sadie of St. Martinville and Jessie Mason and wife Karen of New Iberia; daughters, Mary Ida Mason of Houston, TX, Mary Annette Cobbs and husband Brian of Dayton, TX, Mary Janet Mason of St. Martinville, Patricia Mason of New Iberia, Lisa Joseph of New Orleans, and Denise Mason of New Iberia; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Henry Mason, Sr.; father, Antoine Mitchell; mother, Ida Louis Mitchell; sons, Lawrence Mason, Sr., David Antoine Mason, Sr., Tony Anthony Mason, Sr., and Joseph Mason; brother, Leonard Mitchell, Sr.; sister, Marian Cole; and grandchildren, Clifford Mason, Ernest Joseph Mason, and Kendall Savoy. Pallbearers will be Mary Ida Mason, Mary Annette Cobbs, Mary Janet Mason, Patricia Mason, Lisa Joseph, and Denise Mason. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Mason Jr., Cleveland Broussard, Michael Walker, Inis Wiltz, Jessie Mason, Paul Riggins, Gregory C. Thorne, and Brian Cobbs.
