St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Arlene Fletcher Champagne, 59, who passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at her home surrounded by family.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 8:00 am until 12:30 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday.
Rev. Rusty P. Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Cathy Bayard and Pam Derouen. Gift bearers will be Ashlyn and Dylan Champagne.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Arlene loved being outdoors working in her flower bed, fishing, and cutting grass. She also enjoyed shopping, cooking, and spending time with her family. Arlene was a devoted and hard-working woman who loved spending every moment with her husband and her pets. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Eugene Champagne, Sr.; her daughters, Melinda Champagne, and Tracy Champagne Landry and husband Zakery; her sons, Eugene Champagne, Jr. and companion Tiffany, Jason Champagne and companion Lucy Freixas, and Joshua Champagne and companion Casey; six grandchildren, Trevor, Ashlyn, Dylan, McKinzee, Milee, and Alivia Champagne; and sisters, Geri Plaisance and Deanna Meche.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry and Marie Landry Fletcher.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Champagne Jr., Jason Champagne, Joshua Champagne, Trevor Champagne, Johnny Champagne, and Cleve Champagne Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Numa Champagne and Zack Landry.
