New Iberia – Private services will be held at a later date for Arnold Joseph Rodriguez, 60, who passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, in Lafayette.
A resident of New Iberia, Arnold was born on October 16, 1963, in Houma, to the late Oday Joseph Rodriguez, Jr. and Mary Elois Pevytoe Rodriguez. He graduated from Hanson Memorial High School, in Franklin, and has been employed for the last 15 years at Simoneaud’s Supermarket on Admiral Doyle, where he was a dedicated manager. Arnold tirelessly managed the supermarket, ensuring that operations ran smoothly and customers were satisfied.
Arnold was a man of immense kindness and generosity. He always went above and beyond to help others in need. He never hesitated to offer his support.
Outside of work, Arnold enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and indulging in his hobbies and interests. Camping was one of his favorite pastimes. He found solace in nature and cherished the opportunity to disconnect from the demands of everyday life. Additionally, Arnold was an exceptional barbecue enthusiast who loved gathering family and friends for delicious meals cooked on the grill.
Arnold Joseph Rodriguez's departure leaves a void in the lives of those who knew him. His warm heart, selflessness, and unwavering dedication towards making others' lives better will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.
Survivors include his husband of 13 years, Conway Romero; sisters-in-laws, Sherry Romero (Brenda Ervin) and Laura DeRouen (Jules Dean DeRouen); and several nieces and nephews.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
