Arthur Joseph Babineaux

New Iberia - Our Lord has called his son, Arthur Joseph Babineaux, 56, of New Iberia to join him in his glorious Kingdom of Heaven. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel, in New Iberia, with Rev. Noah Langley officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Babineaux was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as a sergeant in the 1st Infantry, 4th Calvary division, from 1971 - 1976 during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed rebuilding mustangs, fishing, gun collecting, and building rifles. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife Connie Breaux Babineaux of New Iberia; daughter, Cristen Montgomery Breaux of Sunset; three sons, Jesse Mark Babineaux of Lafayette, Joshua Marcus Babineaux of New Iberia, Bastien Babineaux of Germany; granddaughter, Alexis Alyce Breaux; sister, Mary Connie Hardesty of Mystic, CT; nieces, Casey, Beth, and Kitty; nephews, Chip Hardesty, Todd A. Babineaux of New Iberia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Julie Vernice Segura Babineaux; brother, Gerald Babineaux; father, Otto Babineaux. Pallbearers will be Jesse Babineaux, Joshua Babineaux, Wayne Norris, David Theriot, Todd Babineaux, and Marcus Fleming. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. Visitation will continue Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of the service. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Lafayette General Medical Center and to Hospice of Acadiana.
