Arthur 'AJ' John Toby

Arnaudville - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 14, 2017, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Arthur "AJ" Toby, 69, who passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at his residence. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Saturday,;Sunday at 11:00 am until 9:00 pm; and continue on Monday at 7 am until 10:30 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Arnaudville. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Sunday. Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate at the Funeral Service. Entombment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Mr. Toby was a Tug Boat Captain and was very proud of his career. He enjoyed reading, woodworking, solving electrical problems, repairing cars, traveling, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends. His most enjoyable times were spent with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his poodle, Hershey. He looked forward to calling his nephew, Bobby, and sister, Dolores, on a daily basis to see how their day went. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Elsie Guidry Toby; daughters, Nancy Gail Guidroz and companion, Alan Dale Wiltz of Arnaudville, Christie Leigh Perez and husband Christian of Tampa Bay, FL, and Brandy Kaye LeBouef and husband Brian of Abbeville; sister, Dolores Ann Toby and companion, Don Thibodeaux of Cecilia; sister-in-law, Alice Toby; brother-in-laws, Danny and Robert Guidry; grandchildren, Azelie Guidroz, Matthew Guidroz and his fiance, Mary Detrez, Bella Reign Perez, Tristan Perez, Spencer Latiolais, Seth Latiolais, Christian LeBouef, McKenzie LeBouef, and McKenna LeBouef; his great grandchildren, Rhailyn, Cambreigh and Chayton Washington: his godchildren, Kenneth Lagrange, Ashley Fontenot and Lisa Knott. He was preceded in death by parents, Paul Toby, Sr. and Laura LaGrange Toby; his brother, Paul Toby, Jr.; sons-in-law, Edmond Guidroz, Jr. and brother-in-law, Rogers Knott. Pallbearers will be Matthew Guidroz, Kailley, Kagen and Christopher Fontenot, Bobby Knott and Jerrett Guidry. Honorary pallbearers will be Lemuel Washington, Jerry Black, Alan Wiltz, Christian Perez, and Brian LeBouef.
