VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Ashley Ann Durio, 19, who passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at her residence in Cecilia. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Father Paul Broussard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Michelle Veronie, Molly Huval, and Jacque Polk. Ashley was a 2008 graduate of Cecilia High School, having graduated with honors. While in high school she was a member of the Beta Club and softball team, as well as serving as manager of the football team. She attended U.L. of Lafayette on a TOPS Scholarship majoring in secondary education with a minor in math. Ashley will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her parents, Edward Leo Durio, Jr. and Janice Doucet Durio, of Cecilia; her brother, Chad Durio, of Cecilia; and her maternal grandmother, Roberta Doucet of Arnaudville. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Kermit Doucet; and her paternal grandparents, Edward Durio, Sr. and Verna Mae "Sue" Durio. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited by Father Paul Broussard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening. Pallbearers will be Ronald Veronie, Dwayne Veronie, Mitchell Richard, John Huval, Tyler Latiolais, and Morgan Latiolais. Honorary pallbearers will be Lindsay Escoyne, Heather Duplechien, Natalie Angelle, Courtney LeBlanc, and Amber Venable. The family would like to extend special thanks to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis and their staff, and also to Hospice of Acadiana, for the wonderful care and attention they provided to Ashley these past few months. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
