Ashley Marie Gandy

New Iberia - Memorial services will be held at 3:30 pm Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, Ashley Marie Gandy 16, who passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 12:00 pm until 3:30 pm on Saturday. Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Officiant. Interment will be at a later date. Ashley was the daughter of Tracy Rene Gandy of Midland, Texas and Nicole Douglas Gandy of Spring, Texas. She is also survived by her special twin sister, Emily Gandy, and older sister Shea Gandy; brothers, Chris Gandy, and Josh Gandy and wife Charlie; as well as Victoria, Julieonnna and Jason Robin. She was the granddaughter of Wanda Bernard Douglas and the late James D. Douglas, Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whittington. Also surviving are Ashley's Godparents James D. Douglas, Jr. and Dee Dee Waldmann; and many cousins on both sides, who always brought out her deep laugh and wonderful smile. Ashley brightened every room she entered, and showed true joy daily. She will be deeply missed. Her family wishes to express their unending gratitude to Dr. Nabulsi, her lifelong pediatrician, for his care and concern all these years. Special thanks to Midland Childrens Rehab for all the years of love, therapy and friendship they provided; to Ashleys tight knit special-needs friends and families that have experienced life with her; and to her other yo-yo mothers (Liz, Leslie and Traci), along with her nurses Deida Isbell and Kathy Miller for the love shown to Ashley. Ashley will always have a special place in the hearts of Elva, Mona, Sandra and Nicole, who cared for her daily thought out her life. We also thank all of the caregivers, Pedi Med center, all home health workers, and her homebound teacher. Your love and enthusiasm for Ashley was exceptional. Our true gratitude for those who had continual phone conversations with Ashley; calls from Nicole Murphy, Grammy and Deida Isbell absolutely made her day, and were such an important part of her life!
