Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, September 6, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Audrey Broussard Thibodeaux Bergeron, 82, who passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2008 at her residence.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Fr. Paul LaFleur, Pastor of St. Bernard Church, will officate at the funeral Mass. Concelebrant will be Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert. Scripture readings will be read by Darlene Melancon and Rene Berard. Gift bearers will be Amy Comb and Laurie Knott.
Mrs. Bergeron served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Agnes Nursing Home and was a member of St. Bernard Church Parish Altar Society and Perpetual Adoration Society. Audrey had so much love to give and she enjoyed making people happy. She was a compassionate, warm, and loving person with a "heart of gold." Much of her time was spent visiting and caring for people at the nursing home; this is how she became known as "The Caregiver." Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her life - she treasured, adored, and loved them all. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Elton Bergeron, of Breaux Bridge; two sons, Carroll Thibodeaux and his wife, Peggy, and Richard Thibodeaux and his wife, Sally; her daughter, Elaine Thibodeaux, all of Breaux Bridge; three step children, Al Bergeron and his wife, Mary Beth, Lynn Bergeron and his wife, Jennifer, and Deanna LeLeux and her husband, John, all of Lafayette; her brother, Donald Broussard, of Breaux Bridge; four sisters, Gloria Brasseaux, Earline Castille, and Leatrice Charpentier, all of Breaux Bridge, and Louella Blanchard, of Parks; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Francis Thibodeaux; her parents, Jules and Leoncia Dupuis Broussard; her brother, Russell Broussard; and a grandson, Luke Thibodeaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Pallbearers will be Paul Berard, Keith Thibodeaux, Coy Thibodeaux, Russ Thibodeaux, Carey Comb, and Darin Wallace.
