Audrey Rita Hardy

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, January 23, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Audrey Rita Tauzin Hardy, 80, who passed away on Monday, January 19, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Father Louis Allen Breaux will officiate at the funeral Mass. Mrs. Hardy enjoyed dancing, cooking, sewing and gardening. She served as president of the Avon President's Club for 25 years and was a member of the Breaux Bridge Home Demonstration Club. Audrey's grandchildren were the "apple of her eyes." She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include three sons, Dave John Hardy and his wife, Nona, Reggie Hardy and his wife, Maureen, all of Breaux Bridge, and Allen Speight and his wife, Robin, of Spring, TX; four daughters, Renella Berard and her husband, Clifford, Marelle Huval and her husband, Richard, Debbie Bernard and her husband, Barron, all of Breaux Bridge, and Patsy Blevins and her husband, Rob, of Whitetop, VA; one brother, Ernest Charles Tauzin, of Breaux Bridge; two sisters, Lucy May Pentz and her husband, Gary, of Temperence, MI, and Genevieve Hebert and her husband, Russell, of Lafayette; 27 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Melvin Hardy; a daughter, Jean Nell Breaux; her parents, Jacque Andes and Ida Begnaud Tauzin; two brothers, Ronald Joseph Tauzin and Chester M. Tauzin; one sister, Louise Marie Broussard; a grandson, Robert Huval; and two great grandchildren, Tanner Thibodeaux and Noah Buras. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 7 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
