A beloved member of our community, Gussie was born in Franklin, Louisiana on December 19, 1931, to the late Louis and Evelyn Crochet LeBlanc. Her life was marked by dedication to her work, love for her family and friends, and a passion for the simple joys that brought her happiness.
Gussie dedicated a significant portion of her life to contributing her talents and skills to the workforce. She spent 34 years working at Walmart, where she touched the lives of coworkers and customers alike. Before joining Walmart, Gussie had also worked at Woolco, Eckerd Drugs, and Foodtown. Her commitment to excellence and hard work served as an inspiration to those around her.
In addition to her career accomplishments, Gussie had a rich variety of interests that brought joy into her life. She found excitement at the casino, where she enjoyed taking chances and engaging in lively games. Her love for dancing was infectious and brought smiles to everyone who watched as she glided across the floor.
One of Gussie's most treasured pastimes was working in her yard. Maintaining an immaculate garden filled with vibrant flowers brought immense satisfaction to her heart. She dedicated hours ensuring that every plant received tender care and bloomed beautifully. The admiration others held for Gussie's talent as a gardener was only surpassed by the pride she felt when sharing her lovely blooms with others.
Although Gussie had a wide range of interests that brought fulfillment into her own life, what she cherished most was time spent with family and friends. These were the times when she truly radiated love and warmth. Gussie's presence created an atmosphere of joy and togetherness. Her unconditional love and support will be sorely missed by her loved ones.
Mrs. Viator is survived by a daughter, Joann Viator; grandson, Chad Viator; granddaughter, Erica M. Armand (Ricky); a great-grandson, Henry Armand; and her beloved furbaby, Harley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded death by her husband, Weldon "T-Boy" Viator; three children, Zachary Viator, Lisa V. Mouret, and Vicky Viator; and seven siblings, Thomas "Tomboy" LeBlanc, Floyd LeBlanc, Jay LeBlanc, Junius LeBlanc, Clara L. Mills, Helen L. Baker, and Penna L. Dallas.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Kernie LeBlanc, Jackie Girard, and Kathy Derouen for all of your love and support; and to Hospice of Acadiana for extraordinary care and compassion. You are all angels on earth.
Gussie will forever remain in our hearts as a remarkable woman whose dedication, love, and zest for life serve as an inspiration to us all. May she rest in peace.
