Aurelia "Jay Jay" Brown

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM, on Friday, April 28, 2023, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Aurelia "Jay Jay" Brown, 61, who passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Thursday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Friday from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Thursday.

Father Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass.

Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.

Aurelia was born on May 11, 1961, in Milpitas, CA.  She was a devout Catholic and a faithful parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America – Court St. Paul #1434.

As a pastime, "Jay Jay" enjoyed photography, cooking, her pets, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Jesse Brown; daughter, Jennifer (Philip) Vermeer; brother, Ben (Patricia) Giron; sisters, Virginia (Tod) O'Leary and Maryann Giron Thomas; step-sisters, Lucy Rocha and Stella Rocha; grandchildren, Riley Vermeer, Zoey Vermeer, Talia Vermeer, and McKayla Vermeer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Mary Romero Giron; father and mother-in-law, James and Mary Ann Brown; and her nephew Daniel O'Leary.

Pallbearers will be Philip Vermeer, Riley Vermeer, Brock Arnaud, James Mullins, Frank Broussard, and Ben Giron.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Spencer and Joe Gonzales.
