Arnaudville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Austin Stelly, 17, who passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his family.The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am on Monday and continue until service time on Tuesday. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Monday.Rev. Travis Abadie will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Mona Lalonde and Taylor Bergeron. Austin loved traveling, fishing, hunting and anything outdoors and was an avid gamer. He attended MDA Camp Starlite every year and enjoyed every moment. Austin and his service dog, Astro, formed a bond like no other. He visited Gov. John Bell Edwards and had a proclamation signed on September 7, 2019 to assist others and to help raise awareness of individuals with Muscular Dystrophy. He is survived by his parents, Johnny and Trina Bergeron Stelly of Arnaudville; brother, Ethan Stelly of Arnaudville; sister, Aubrie Stelly of Arnaudville; and maternal grandparents, Frank Lee and Katharina " Kathy" Lalonde Bergeron of Arnaudville.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John Stelly; and paternal grandmother, Anna L. Lalonde. Pallbearers will be Johnny Stelly, John Gibson, Travis Bergeron, Terrell Bergeron, Chauncey Sibley and Ethan Stelly.
