Barbara B. Cartimiglia

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Barbara B. Cartimiglia, 78, who passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017, in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Rev. Gary Schexnayder will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 8:30 AM until 1:30 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM on Thursday. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Cartimiglia was born on September 23, 1938 to the late Pierre "Pete" and Livie Boutte Badeaux, and was a graduate of New Iberia High. She worked in retail sales and also for the Iberia Parish School system. A lifetime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cahtolic Church, Mrs. Cartimiglia taught catechism, and also enjoyed bowling and playing softball. Survivors include her sons, Samuel "Sammy" Cartimiglia, Jr. and Brandie Judice of Youngsville, Philip Cartimiglia and Tracy of New Iberia; grandchildren, Jenna Lee Watkins, Taylor Mora, and Collin Theriot; sister, Gloria Bourgeois of New Iberia, and brother, Billy Badeaux and wife Cathy of Delcambre. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Samuel Cartimiglia, Sr.; daughter, Donna Faye Cartimiglia; sister, Inez Vanduzee; and a brother, Raymond Badeaux. Pallbearers will be Philip Cartimiglia, Samuel "Sammy" Cartimiglia Jr., Collin Theriot, David Broussard, Tom Briscoe, and Ricky Bourgeois.
