New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, July 14, 2017, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Barbara Blanchard Dubois, 78, who passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017, in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
Rev. Bill Melancon will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary, led by the Men's Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7:00 pm Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 am until 9:30 am.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Dubois was born on July 19, 1938 to the late Louis and Mildred Sandoz Blanchard. She worked in accounting at Musson Patout for 59 years, and was a devout Catholic. Mrs. Dubois lived for family, her church, and her work.
Survivors include husband of 61 years, Harold Dubois of New Iberia; daughter, Debbie Bernard and husband David of New Iberia; son, David Dubois of Prairieville; brother, Jerry Blanchard and wife Rosalie of Port Arthur, Texas; brother-in-law, Johnny Dubois and wife Linda of Jeanerette; sister-in-law, Ora Faye Blanchard of New Iberia; and granddaughter, Avery Bernard of New Iberia.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dubois was preceded in death by brothers, Ronnie Blanchard, and Nathan Blanchard, and her husband's parents, Louis and Gersey Broussard Dubois.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Blanchard, Tony Blanchard, Scott Blanchard, Stoney Blanchard, Thomas Blanchard, and Stefan Benoit.
The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers, Mary Beth Derouen, "Tee", Ms. Patsy, and also to Bridgeway Hospice.
