VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Barbara Ann Melancon Dugas, 69, who passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Fr. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Barbara enjoyed reading and visiting with people and also looked forward to attending her Bible Study class, with Jim Martin, every Wednesday evening. She was married to the love of her life, Harry, for 52 years. Survivors include her husband, Harry Dugas, of Cecilia; two sons, Dale Anthony Dugas and wife, Kathy, and Dwayne Adam Dugas, all of Cecilia; one daughter, Harriet Dugas, of Cecilia; two brothers, Charles Melancon and wife, Marie, of Lafayette, and Glenn Melancon and wife, Janice, of Shreveport; three sisters, Jo Anna Romero and husband, Charles, of Broussard, Brenda Garcia and husband, Ed, of Lafayette, and Annette Rexroat and husband, James, of Cecilia; and three grandchildren, Peggy Lee Hayes, Dustin Anthony Dugas, and Amy Marie Dugas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Whitney and Gladys Allemond Melancon; and a sister, Jackie Melancon. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 7 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited by James Martin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Pallbearers will be Dale and Dwayne Dugas, Dustin Dugas, Charles and Glenn Melancon, and Jim Rexroat. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
