Barbara Dugas Guidry

Cecilia - A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 27, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Barbara Dugas Guidry, 82, who passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia on Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:45 PM.

A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM on Friday.

Father Greg Cormier will officiate at the funeral service. 

Barbara was born on December 19, 1942, in Henderson. Throughout her life, Barbara was an exuberant spirit, whose passions echoed through every aspect of her being. She found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for cooking created countless delicious meals that were lovingly prepared for family gatherings, where laughter and love filled the air.

Fishing was another of her cherished pastimes, a tranquil escape where she found peace and serenity. Alongside her love for fishing, Barbara's knack for reading opened new worlds to her, often discovering stories that sparked imagination and deep conversations.

A talented seamstress, Barbara expressed her creativity through the fabric she stitched, crafting gifts of love that would be passed down through generations. Her gardening endeavors resulted in a vibrant sanctuary that reflected her nurturing spirit, blooming with flowers that spoke of her love for life.

Most of all, Barbara cherished the time spent with her family, which was the foundation of her happiness. Each family gathering was a testament to her dedication, where she shared her life lessons and laughter, leaving an indelible mark on her loved ones' hearts.

Barbara and her husband, Robley, shared a beautiful life together! In her last few years of her life he was beside her caring for her every moment and making sure all her needs were met. Their love for one another was truly a love of a lifetime!

She is survived by her husband, Robley Guidry, Sr.; sons, Craig Guidry (Rhonda) and Todd Guidry (Joy); daughters, Gwendolyn Guidry (Tony Richard), Tina Landry (Butch) and Laticia Richard (Chris); grandchildren, Danielle Bihm, Joshua Brasseaux, Sky Brasseaux, Jacob Delahoussaye, Tyler Guidry, Taran Guidry, Cara Kidder and Kaylin Richard; and her brother, Jack Dugas (Sandra).

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elsie Artigue Dugas, Sr.; son, Robley Guidry, Jr.; son-in-law, Tony Richard; and her grandchild, Logan Delahoussaye.

Pallbearers will be Craig Guidry, Todd Guidry, Jack Dugas, Butch Landry, Dwayne Dugas and Brian Delahoussaye.

Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
