Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 7, 2020, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Barbara Guidry, 63, who passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:30 am until 2:30 pm on Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 1:30 pm on Friday, led by JoEllen Guidry. Rev. Garrett Savoie will officiate at the Funeral Mass and the con-celebrants will be Fr. Nicholas Dupre’ and Fr. Garrett McIntyre. Altar Servers will be Liam Robin and Avlyn Latiolais. Readers will be Andrea Phillips and Hilary Guidry. Gift Bearers will be Robin Fruge and Kaitlin Viator. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Barbara was a member of two rosary groups and an adorer at Mary’s House Adoration Chapel. She loved her grandchildren, Liam and Estelle - they were the loves of her life. She enjoyed spending time with family, praying the rosary, spending time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, going on vacations with her daughter and family, and road trips with her sisters and friends. Barbara loved sitting outside on her swing admiring and taking pictures of cardinals and doves which gave her signs of peace. She had a generous heart and was always willing to offer any kind of help to anyone at any time. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Larry Charles Guidry of Breaux Bridge; daughter, Heidi (Christopher)Guidry Robin; grandson, Liam Christopher Robin; granddaughter, Estelle Brene Robin; two sisters, Sandy Stelly of Arnaudville and Kathleen (James) Thibodeaux of Broussard; two brothers, Carl (Loyce) Guidry and Jesse (Sophie) Guidry, all of Arnaudville; mother-in-law, Yolande Guidry of Breaux Bridge; cousin, Tina (Kenny) Dauphine of Arnaudville; brothers-in-law, Philip Frederick, Jr. of Breaux Bridge, Lynn (JoEllen) Guidry of Breaux Bridge, and Darrel (Sara) Guidry of Shreveport; and a of host of nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Joseph and MaryAnn Cormier Guidry; sister, Renella Frederick; grandchild, Christian Blaine Robin; father-in-law, Steven Guidry; brother-in-law, Andrew Stelly; and nephew, Seth Guidry. Pallbearers will be Christopher Robin, Larry Guidry, Christopher Phillips, John Dauphine, Carl Guidry, and Ji Sonnier. Honorary pallbearers will be Liam Robin, Philip Frederick, Jesse Guidry, Lance Viator, Shannon Bourque, James Thibodeaux, Lynn Guidry, and Darrel Guidry. Jacob Meek was the son of Barbara’s friends, John and Tiffany Meek, who passed away in March 2019. They shared a special bond in prayer and faith and Barbara would want to extend her generosity to his family for Jacob’s Foundation.
