Breaux Bridge - Barbara Jean Maxwell, 89, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at St. Agnes Nursing Home in Breaux Bridge.

Internment will follow at a later date.

Barbara lived a life infused with love, kindness, and creativity. She was a loving person that lived for her family.

A devoted homemaker, Barbara found joy in the simplest of pleasures: quilting her vibrant creations, nurturing a blooming flower garden, and preparing delicious meals for her family. Her hands, skilled in both sewing and cooking, created not only beautiful objects and delicious treats but also memories that her loved ones will cherish forever. Those who knew Barbara would describe her as a compassionate person, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Barbara enriched the lives of those around her with her kindness and creativity, and she will be deeply missed. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, a testament to a life of beauty and peace.

She is survived by her sons, Roger Young, Jr., Richard (Cara Douglas) Young, and Keith Young; daughters, Felicia Young and Dianthia (Mark) Grubbs; grandchildren, Stephen Almanzar, Tyler Tucker, Aubrey Douglas, James Douglas, Benjamin Young, Brendan Douglas, Jasmin Young, Laura Young, Elizabeth Young, Melody Young, Sonja Young, Danielle (Colby) Lute, and Ashley Young; and 7 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hygene and Agnes Finch; her 1st husband, Roger Young, Sr., 2nd husband, Henry Maxwell; and her brother, Kenneth Finch, Sr.
