Barbara Miller Meaux

New Iberia - Barbara Miller Meaux, 86, a dedicated mother and grandmother, passed away on December 28, 2023. A longtime resident of New Iberia, she was born on March 17, 1937., to the late Robert and Mildred Miller. Barbara led a fulfilling life and leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by her loved ones.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery, in Jeanerette.

Visitation will be Monday, from 3:30 pm until 7:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Tuesday, from 8:00 am until 10:00 am.

In her professional career, Barbara worked for Cleco for many years before becoming the bookkeeper for Mutual Credit in New Iberia. She approached her work with dedication and skill, becoming an integral part of both organizations. Barbara's commitment to her career was evident in the way she carried herself and the impact she made on those around her.

Outside of work, Barbara had a passion for computers. She thoroughly enjoyed working on them and exploring their capabilities. Her curiosity and eagerness to learn allowed her to navigate through the ever-evolving world of technology with ease. Barbara also loved cake decorating and competed often in a local cake club.

Barbara's passing is deeply mourned by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever be held dear in their hearts.

Barbara Miller Meaux lived a life filled with love, dedication, and passion. Her commitment to family, her unwavering work ethic, and her genuine kindness touched the lives of many. Though she may no longer be with us physically, the memories she created and the values she instilled will continue to inspire and guide us. Let us remember Barbara as a loving mother, an adoring grandmother, and a remarkable individual who made a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Survivors include her children, Michael Meaux and Tami Meaux; grandchildren, Jamie Delahoussaye (Craig), Ashley Danos (Brandon), and Shelbee Meaux; and great grandchildren, Austin Dugan, Camille Delahoussaye, Catherine Delahoussaye, Madison Danos, and Olivia Danos.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her siblings, Joyce Duda, Howard Miller, and Richard “Dick” Miller.

Pallbearers will be Michael Meaux, Craig Delahoussaye, Brandon Danos, Austin Dugan, and George Lackey.

Barbara's passing is deeply mourned by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever be held dear in their hearts.
