Coteau Holmes - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, October 3, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church for Barbara Mobley Simon, 83, who passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at St. Agnes Nursing Home in Breaux Bridge.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.

A rosary will be prayed at 2:00 pm on Monday by Annette Trahan.

Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Charley Landry and Adrian Courville. Gift bearers will be Brooke Landry and Stacy Blanchard. 

Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes.

Barbara was in charge of the food program in Coteau Holmes for many years that provided food for those in need. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and bingo, shopping and entertaining her family and friends with a new version of gossip while having a cold one. 

She is survived by her sons, Charles  (Joan) Simon and Aaron (Kim) Simon; daughter, Darlene (Jimmy) Bourque and her 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Simon; son, Allen Simon; father, Harry Mobley; mother and step-father, Alberta Trahan Cockerham and Dixie Cockerham; twin sister, Patricia Benoit; parents-in-law, Claude and Evia Hargrave Simon; and her beloved pug, Kimmi Chin.
