VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Henderson - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson for Barbara Himel Saintignan Robertson, 76, who died on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at her residence. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Henderson. Father Chanh Nguyen, Pastor of Our Lady of Mercy, will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Charlotte Austin and Sandra Robertson. Offertory Gifts will be presented to the Altar by Aftan Guidry and Hannah Guidry. Barbara had so many enjoyments in life, such as traveling, camping, fishing, gardening, and trips to the casinos, but the times that she treasured the most, were those spent with her family and friends. She most especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her nature was that of a caregiver, a genuine person with a big heart always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. She dearly loved her family so much and will be sadly missed by them, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Survivors include two sons, James Saintignan and his wife, Martha A., of Parks, and Nelson Saintignan, of Cecilia; three daughters, Debra R. Guidry and her companion, Randall Lanclos, Sheila Robertson, all of Henderson, and, Monica Robertson Taha-Alaoui and her husband, Izzy, of MS; two brothers, Webster Himel and his wife, Nagatha, of Albuquerque, NM, and Ralph Himel and his wife, Cindy, of Sorrento; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and faithful companion, her dog, Furby. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Armond White Saintignan; her husband, Howard Robertson; her parents, Wilson and Irene Thibodeaux Himel; a brother, Douglas Himel; a sister, Vivian H. Peterson; one grandson, Sean Saintignan; and two great grandchildren. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Jason Guidry, Josh Guidry, Kyle Lanclos, Bobby Guidry, Tony Robertson, and Eugene Marchand. Pellerin Funeral Home of Henderson is in charge of arrangements.
