Barbara Renner Sorrel

New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 27, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Barbara Ann Renner Sorrel, 76, who passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017, in New Iberia. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette. Rev. Alexander Albert will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Pellerin Funeral Home. Mrs. Sorrel was born on September 6, 1940 to the late Richard Clarence Renner and Lillian Marie Crouchet Renner. A graduate of Mount Carmel, she was an avid reader and her hobbies included painting, cooking, and collecting antiques. Survivors include her daughters, Nannette Marie Sorrel Leleux and husband Chris of New Iberia, Suzette Louise Sorrel Bonneval and husband David of New Iberia, Danielle Amber Sorrel Bouy and husband Robert of Boling Green, Virginia; son, John David Sorrel, Jr. and wife Lisa Boney Sorrel of New Iberia; grandchildren, Matthew Leleux, Andrew Leleux, Catherine Nguyen and husband Thai, Grace Leleux, David Bonneval, II and wife Jessica, Jolee Bonneval, Natasha Sorrel, Amber Bouy, Amalee Bouy, Amaya Bouy; great grandchildren, Paxton Nguyen, Penelope Nguyen, Louis Dore, Etta Dore; brother, James Richard Renner and wife Cheryl of Tampa, Florida. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John David Sorrel, Sr. Pallbearers will be Robert Bouy, Thai Nguyen, David Bonneval, Andrew Leleux, David Bonneval, II, Matthew Leleux, and Chris Leleux. The family would like to give special thanks to Mrs. Sorrel's caregivers, Emily Ward, Rose Nix, Raine Weathersby, and Latifah Gray.
