Beatrice 'Queen B' Derouselle

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Beatrice "Queen B" Alex Derouselle, 91, who passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:30 am until 10:00 am on Saturday until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Saturday. Fr. Jerome will officiate at the Funeral Mass. The readers will be Mary Abrams and Mary Alex. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Mrs. Derouselle was a very independent woman who took charge of all challenges that came her way. Very vivacious and outgoing; she spoke her mind whether you wanted to listen or not. She was an avid fan of Zydeco music and loved to dance. Beatrice was a very care-free lady who enjoyed life and loved to have a good time. In her 91 years she never met a stranger and she was a stranger to no one. She is survived by her loving son, Dieudonne Henry Derouselle and wife Sheryl of Breaux Bridge; sister, Rose Noel of Breaux Bridge; and her grandchildren, Monica Ren Godeau and spouse Bruce of Houston, TX, and Michael R. Derouselle of Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wilson Derouselle; and her parents, Henry and Antonia Noel Alex. Pallbearers will be Joseph Sylvester, Darey Sampy, Donald Derouselle, Bruce Godeau, Michael Derouselle, and Joseph W. Ceasar. Honorary pallbearers will be Carol Sylvester, Clancy Mamou, Walter Derouselle, Donald Thibodeaux, Michael Edwards, John Thomas, and Henry Derouselle.
