New Iberia - A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Becky Molbert Kennedy, 58, who passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 8:00 am until 12:30 pm.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
Rev. Gary Schexnayder will officiate at the Funeral Service. Readers will be Renee Borne and Robert "Woody" Woodburn. Gift Bearers will be Lauren Molbert and Stephanie Broussard.
Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.
Becky was a 1975 graduate of Mount Carmel Academy, and continued her education at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry graduating with a degree in dental hygiene in 1978. She attended St. Peters Catholic Church where she volunteered her time teaching religion classes for many years. Becky was a past member of the American Dental Hygienist Association, Louisiana Dental Hygienist Association, and Acadiana District Dental Hygienist Association. She stayed active through the community participating in different organization and clubs including; Les Allies, a Dominos group, and a Pokeno group. Becky enjoyed cheering for the LSU Tigers and vacationing to the beach which she considered her second home. Most of all, she loved being with her family and was known as the Emily Post of the Molberts.
She is survived by her loving spouse, Sam Kennedy; son, Avery Doerle and fiancee' Jennifer Harris of Youngsville; daughter, Caroline Doerle and fiance' Jesse Bouy of Youngsville; three brothers, Dr. David Molbert of New Iberia, Tim Molbert and wife Mary Kay of Metairie, and Matt Molbert and wife Sylvia of Lafayette; sister, Alice McDuff and husband Jim of New Iberia; two sister in laws, Sherry Molbert and Sheila Molbert both of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Inez Sumrall Molbert and Dr. Charles Molbert; first husband, Frank Doerle; and brother, Dr. Mark Molbert.
Pallbearers will be Avery Doerle, Tim Molbert, Matt Molbert, Jim McDuff, David Molbert, Buster Broussard, and Jesse Bouy.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association and Catholic High School.
