Belva was known to many as the family historian; there wasn't anyone who knew more about the family history than she did. She enjoyed sewing, dancing, and talking on the phone with her relatives and friends. Belva was an excellent cook - you knew exactly when she was making her famous cornbread (which everyone desired), because the aroma permeated throughout the neighborhood.
Survivors include her sister, Evelyn Wiltz of Gardina, California; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver LaSalle; her parents, Francois and Elizabeth St. Julien Wiltz; four brothers, Clarence, Lionel, Willie, and Ramsey Wiltz; three sisters, Lena Vegas, Beulah Delahoussaye, and Rita Hardy; and many nieces and nephews.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Monday, February 1st, from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., with a recitation of the Rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Craig F. Wiltz, Jerron K. Wiltz, Russell Plessy, Jr., Donald Faulk, Rod Wiltz, and Mac Jude Wiltz.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cramin P. Wiltz, Randall A. Wiltz, Ralph Catalon, and Michael J. Wiltz., Jr.
