Bernice Latiolais Blanchard

Catahoula - Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2006, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula for Bernice Theresa Latiolais Blanchard, 77, who died Monday, October 2, 2006 at her residence. Interment will be in Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. Mrs. Blanchard was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and worked at Catahoula Elementary School for 22 years. ?She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and going to the casino, but what she enjoyed most of all, was loving and taking care of her family. Survivors include three sons, Marshall Blanchard and his wife, Patsy, Allen Blanchard and his wife, Miranda, and Carol J. Blanchard and his wife, Mary; three daughters, Annette Huval and her husband, Timothy, Lillian Suire and her husband, Wilton, and Evelyn Barras and her husband, James G., all of Catahoula; two sisters, Shirley Thibodeaux and her husband, Lloyd of Catahoula and Glenda Huval and her husband, Larry of Cecilia; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren on-the-way. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olden J. Blanchard; her parents, Abbie and Alice L. Latiolais; and her sisters, Mary Patin, Rose Boudreaux and Hazel Borel. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday and continue until time of service on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Shannon Barras, Bart Blanchard, Cory Blanchard, Casey Blanchard, Jared Blanchard, Timmy Huval, Trevor Huval, Brock Suire, Dillion Suire, and Kirk Barras.
