Bernice Frederick Chataignier

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m., on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel, for Bernice Frederick Chataignier, 71, who passed away on Monday, February 8, 2010 at her residence. Bernice enjoyed listening to music, smoking, and eating peppermint candies. She loved being with her children, grandchildren, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. Survivors include her soul mate, Mayo Broussard, Sr., of St. Martinville; four sons, Percy Chataignier, Jr. and wife, Julie, David Chataignier and wife, Angela, all of Loreauville, Willie Chataignier, of St. Martinville, and Danny Chataignier and wife, Helen, of Loreauville; two daughters, Tina Dupuis and husband, Dean, of Henderson, and Cindy Romero and husband, Lester, of St. Martinville; her step daughter, Bonnie Vonche, of St. Martinville; her step son, Mayo Broussard, Jr., of Lafayette; two brothers, Clevens Frederick, of New Iberia, and Ernie Broussard, of St Martinville; two sisters, Maydelle Peltier, of Loreauville, and Cecile Viator, of St. Martinville; 13 grandchildren, Brandi Judice, Percy Chataignier, II, Jennifer Chataignier, David Chataignier, Jr., My Little Boy, Casey Dugas, Holly Chataignier, Danny Chataignier, Jr., Page Chataignier, Pierson Chataignier, Lexie Chataignier, Willie Chataignier, Jr., Mandy Dartez, and Mindy Dartez; 12 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, and 15 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Chataignier, Sr.; her parents, Meaunce and Stephanie Hebert Frederick; two sisters, Elaine and Eunice Frederick; her brother, Harry Frederick, Sr., and twin brothers, Clarence and Lawrence Frederick. Visiting hours will be observed at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to defray funeral expenses. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
