Arnaudville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church for Bernice Knott Tate, 85, who passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Pelican Pointe Nursing Home in Maurice.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Arnaudville on Saturday from 9:30 am until 12:00 pm.
A Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am on Saturday morning by Denise Hebert.
Father Travis Abadie will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Lori Granger and Annie Viator. Gift Bearers will be Hailey Viator and Heidi Viator. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Bernice was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church. Bernice worked as a Cafeteria Manager at St. Ignatius Catholic School for many years before eventually retiring from Academy of the Sacred Heart.
Bernice will be remembered for her amazing cooking, her love of flowers and especially for the love she had for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Wilson Tate; daughter, Priscilla Tate Dressel; sisters, Marie Louise Knott, Delores Knott Olivier (Marcel), Betty Knott Vining (John) and Geraldine "Gerri" Knott; grandchildren, Lori Marks Granger (Doug), Annie Marks Viator (Hank) and Adam Marks; great-grandchildren, Corbin Thibodeaux, Andrew Marks, Hailey Viator, Heidi Viator and Logan Granger.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clebert Knott and Helena Guidry Knott; son, Ronald Tate; son-in-law, Kendall Dressel; sisters, Mildred Richard and Eula Mae Knott; and brothers, Lloyd Knott and James Knott.
Pallbearers will be Troy Tate, Roger Tate, Adam Marks, Andrew Marks, Hank Viator and Doug Granger.
