Bernice Noel

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 1, 2007, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Bernice Landry Noel, 81, who passed away on Friday, November 23, 2007 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Mrs. Noel loved sewing, cooking, and eating boiled crawfish. ?She was a wonderful caregiver and enjoyed spending time with her children, especially her grandchildren, whom she expressed as being ""our tomorrow."" ?She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and participated in church events as long as her health allowed her. Survivors include two sons, Joseph Perly Noel, of Cecilia, and Joseph Laify Noel, of Poche Bridge; four daughters, Judy Kimble and husband, Willie, of Houston, TX, Ida Smith and husband, Walter, of Clinton, Mary Ruth Noel, and Jane Noel Broussard, both of Cecilia; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gussie Noel; her parents, Adam and Aspazie Castille Landry; two daughters, Rose Marie and Gustavia Noel; six brothers; five sisters; one great grandchild; and one great-great grandchild. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
