Bernice LeBlanc Veronie

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, February 22, 2010, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Bernice LeBlanc Veronie, 86, who passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Msgr. J. Douglas Courville will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Mrs. Veronie dearly loved her children, but most especially her grandchildren; she always looked forward to the many times she could take care of them. She loved cooking, ironing and Cajun dancing. Bernice was a classy woman who loved getting all dressed up and having her hair done - she would never leave her house without making sure her lipstick was on. Survivors include her son, Leroy Veronie, of Ramona, CA; her daughter, Elsie Veronie, of St. Martinville; her half-brother, Paris LeBlanc, of Sulphur; two half-sisters, Sophie Guidroz and Dorothy Babineaux, both of Breaux Bridge; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Veronie; her father, Cyrus LeBlanc; her mother, Edith LeBlanc; her step mother, Ceverin Cormier; her son-in-law, Alvin Bonin; and her brother, Ivan LeBlanc. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday evening. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
