Henderson - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson, for Bertha Mary "Bercy" Serrette Latiolais, 83, who passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at St. Agnes Nursing Home in Breaux Bridge.
Entombment will follow at St. Michael Archangel Cemetery in Henderson.
Rev. Fr. Chanh Nguyen, Pastor of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, will officiate at the funeral Mass. Readers will be Valex and Kelly Taylor. Gift bearers will be Michelle "Bunnie" Aub, and Kelly and Valex Taylor.
Mrs. Latiolais worked as a hostess at Pat's Waterfront Restaurant for a number of years and also worked in the crawfish processing industry. She loved to crochet and spend time with her family and friends. Everyone enjoyed her cooking that she shared with family and friends.
She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Ann Taylor, of Henderson, and Ginger Ann Latiolais, of Ridge; one brother, Connie Serrette, of Nina; one sister, Vergie S. Latiolais, of Henderson; six grandchildren, Blane Taylor, Kelly Taylor, Geary Taylor (Kim), Michelle "Bunnie" Aub (Ricky), Randy Calais (Misty), and Kyle Taylor (Jillian); and eleven great grandchildren, Ian Taylor, Valex Taylor, Sage Calais, Madi Taylor, Ahni Calais, Jax Aub, Noah Taylor, Jett Aub, Gabi Taylor, Janci Aub, and Ayden Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Joseph Latiolais; her parents, Simeon and Amanda Zeringue Serrette; two brothers, Sterling and Anthon Serrette; two sisters, Minerva S. White and Ollie S. Doucet; and a son-in-law, Larry Taylor.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Pallbearers will be Blane Taylor, Geary Taylor, Randy Calais, Kyle Taylor, Ricky Aub, and Ian Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sage Calais, Jax Aub, Noah Taylor, Jett Aub, and Ayden Taylor.
Bertha's family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Warren Degatur and his staff, the staff of St. Agnes Healthcare and Rehab Center, and the doctors and nurses of Hospice of Acadiana.
