Jeanerette - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia for Bertrand Joseph Boutte, Sr., 70, who passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018, in Lafayette.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 9:00 AM.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Tuesday.
Rev. Gregory Chauvin will be the Celebrant.
Graveside services and burial will be in Houston, Texsas, under the direction of Ross Mortuary (713-223-8071).
Bertrand Joseph Boutte, Sr. was born in Jeanerette, Louisiana on November 1, 1947 to the late Rufus J. Boutte and Doris Olivier Boutte. He worked in the cargo logistics industry when he lived in Houston, and retired from Schat-Harding in New Iberia. Mr. Boutte spent his entire life as a dedicated player, coach and fan of baseball. He also loved football, fishing and spending time with his family. Bert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Tammy Schulz Boutte; daughter, Kim Boutte of Conroe, Texas; sons, Bertrand J. Boutte, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada, Cody J. Boutte of New Iberia, and Chad J. Boutte of Jeanerette; brothers, Terry P. Boutte, Sr. and wife Lavergne of Jeanerette, and Peter Boutte and wife Cherron of New Iberia; sisters, Sandra Boutte of Houston, and Alecia Bergeron and husband Jeff of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Ericka and Kayden Ceppi of Conroe, Texas, Josephine and Viktoria Boutte of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Shaedon and Shaleb Weldon of Conroe, Texas.
In addition to his parents, Bert was preceded in death by a brother, Rickie Boutte.
Pallbearers will be B.J., Cody, Chad, and Chris Boutte, John Tesch, Kent Olivier, Sr., Jesse Bergeron, and Gary Joseph.
Honorary pallbearers are Peter and Terry Boutte, Landon and Zack Tesch, George Olivier, Jr., Gregory Olivier, Achille Boutte, Joseph Dalton Olivier, Glen Labrie, Carl Olivier, James Marial Boutte, Daniel Olivier, and Kayden Ceppi.
