St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church for Betty C. Couvillier, 84, who passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Thursday from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm. It will continue on Friday from 8:00 am until 12:30 pm.
Brother Jessie Charpentier will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Martinville Methodist Cemetery.
Born on July 21, 1939, in Bayou Chene, Louisiana, Betty was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of countless individuals with her kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith.
Betty was a devoted member of Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church and wholeheartedly embraced her faith as a born-again Christian. Her spirituality guided her every action, and she lived each day as a shining example of selflessness and love. She possessed a rare gift - the ability to make anyone feel welcome and valued. Betty's open heart and generous spirit meant she never met a stranger, always extending her hand to those in need.
In addition to her spiritual endeavors, Betty dedicated over four decades of her life to a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her compassion and dedication touched the lives of her patients, providing comfort and care during vulnerable times. Her remarkable work ethic and devotion to others served as an inspiration to all who knew her.
Family was at the center of Betty's world, and her love for her children and grandchildren knew no bounds. A woman of countless talents, she found joy in her involvement with the Coteau Holmes Baptist Mission, where she dedicated her time and made lasting memories. She shared her love and faith as she drove the church van, creating opportunities to bring hope and support to others.
She is survived by her daughters, Belinda Ibert (Tim) and Brenda Leigh Couvillier; sons, Kurt Couvillier (Glenda) and Craig Couvillier; grandchildren, Jamie Ancona (Tony), Ben Darden (Sara), Colby Thibodeaux (Lauren), Chastity Gardener (Robbie), Shena Couvillier, Carroll LeBlanc, Kirsten Couvillier, Brianna Couvillier, Carter Turner, Pierre Couvillier, Samuel Couvillier, Jr. and Michaela Romero; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Olivia, Bennett, Elijah, Colby, Jr., Cecil Floyd, Corey, Magan, Rachel, Tyler, Carter, Adam, Jr., Zoie, Mckenzie and Gracelynn; brothers, Roy Case (Thelma), Mark Case (Claudette), Patrick Case (Patricia) and Jerry Case (Nancy); daughter-in-law, Mary Couvillier; and son-in-law, Patrick Darden.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Couvillier; son, Samuel Couvillier, Sr. father, Samuel Case; mother, Edna Mire Drummond; brothers, Samuel Case, Jr., Reginald Case, Sr., Lennis Case, Sr. and Perry Case, Sr.; and sister, Dolores Marusak.
Pallbearers will be Kurt Couvillier, Craig Couvillier, Colby Thibodeaux, Mike Case, Reginald Case, Jr., Pierre Couvillier and Dondrick Benoit.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her nephews, Mike, Reginald, Jr. and Dondrick for the care and compassion they provided.
