Betty Pruitt Dunham

St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church in St. Martinville for Betty Pruitt Dunham, 72, who passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Maison de Lafayette. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 9:00 am until 10:30 am. Pastor Jessie Charpentier will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Methodist Cemetery in St. Martinville. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. Throughout the years, she shared her love with over 75 foster children and was known as, "Mama Betty." She was a member of Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Betty was also a member of the Beta Rho Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and shared many memories with her Beta Rho sisters. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, playing Pokeno and spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, Rodney Dunham of St. Martinville, LA; Debbie Rizer and husband Kevin of Houston, TX, Jane Manuel and husband Berkman of Mandeville, LA, and Tonya Perry and husband Jason of Lafayette, LA; grandchildren, Seth Rizer, Tabitha Rizer, Paige Hulin, Ian Perry, Ryan Perry, and Jenna Perry; brothers, William "Bobby" Pruitt and wife Carolyn of Campbellsville, KY, Jimmy Pruitt and wife Bonnie of Simpsonville, KY, Roy Pruitt and wife Zelda of Greensburg, KY, and Kenneth Pruitt of Greensburg, KY; sister, Pat Goldsmith of Horse Cave, KY; mother-in-law, Rachel Dunham; brother-in-law, Delene Bo Cox of Campbellsville, KY; sister-in-law, Phyllis Pruitt of Orlando, FL; and her loving in-laws, Gerald and Jane Dunham, Rick and Sylvia Pike, Irving and Connie Dunham and Ronnie and Laura Berry. She was preceded in death by husband, Howard Arthur Dunham; parents, Thomas and Josie Berry Pruitt; brother, Billy Pruitt; sisters, Ruth Ann Pruitt and Beatrice Cox; brother-in-law, Lou Goldsmith; sister-in-law, Connie Pruitt; and father-in-law, Roy Dunham. Pallbearers will be Kevin Rizer, Berkman Manuel, Jason Perry, Ian Perry, Ryan Perry, and Seth Rizer.
