Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, private services will be held for Beulah Dupuis Doucet, 90, who passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020, at her residence in Butte LaRose.
Beulah was born and raised in Butte LaRose and was the owner of Doucet's Grocery. Her passion was her store; she enjoyed working there and visiting friends that came in to shop on the weekends. Beulah loved painting, going to the jewelry markets in New Orleans, shopping, and having lunch with her classmates. She loved cooking, going to the camp, and traveling with her husband and kids in their motor home. Beulah’s last get together was for Thanksgiving where she also celebrated her 90th birthday with the people she loved the most, her two sisters, and her sons and their families.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael and wife Christine Broussard Doucet and Maxim and wife Darla Arnaud Doucet; sisters, Adele Guilbeau and Mildred Roberts; grandchildren, Charlotte Courville, Amy (Terry) Bares, Haillie (John) Babineaux, Tyler (Kacey) Doucet, Maxim Doucet, II, Mallory Doucet and Jacques Doucet; great grandchildren, Kaleb, Alaina and Cole Courville, Emarie and Avery Babineaux; and her great-great grandchild, Ambre Dupuis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Charles Doucet, Sr.; parents, Herman and Adeline Burch Dupuis; two sons, Pierce Carroll and William "Bill" Carroll; brothers, Kaiser and Cleveland Dupuis; and sisters; Hilda Altemus and Hazel Berard.
Pallbearers will be Michael Doucet, Maxim Doucet, Tyler Doucet, Jacques Doucet, Maxim Doucet II, and John Babineaux.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lacretia Richard, Lisa Broussard, Christine Olivier, Roxanne Marks, and Auntie Em's Home Care for the love and care given to Beulah. Also, a very special thanks to Teresa Lormand, Heather Boudreaux, and Heather Hamlett for taking care of the store.
To the "Queen of Butte LaRose," we love you and will miss you. Rest in Peace.
