New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM , Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia for Beverly Broussard Champagne , 78 who died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 in New Iberia . Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Rev. Mike Arnaud will be the Celebrant. Born on July 5, 1932 , Mrs. Champagne enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, canvas painting, and painting ceramics. She will be deeply missed. Survivors include her sons, Kenneth M. Champagne and wife Cynthia of New Iberia , Karl D. Champagne of New Iberia , Dwight A. Champagne and wife Brenda of Youngsville; daughters, Wendy LeBlanc and husband Alton of Youngsville, Terry Babineaux and husband Rodney of New Iberia, Susan Pinell and fiance Larry Hanks of Scott; sister, Dinah Bienvenu of New Iberia; half sisters, Cindy Herring of New Iberia, Vicki Husbands of Marksville; 15 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lawrence Champagne; father, George Broussard; mother, Adeline Verret Bienvenu; step father, Sherwood Bienvenu; daughter, Connie Champagne; grandson, David Champagne. Pallbearers will be Seth Babineaux, Troy LeBlanc, Chris LeBlanc, Ben Champagne, Brett Pinell, Chad Champagne, Kevin Champagne, and Shawn Champagne. Honorary Pallbearers include Dwight Champagne , Karl Champagne, Kenny Champagne, Alton LeBlanc, Larry Hanks, Rodney Babineaux, Dallas DeRouen, Wayne Morvant, Bob Johnson, Floyd Albert, and Larry Verret. The family would like to give special thanks to Mrs. Champagne s caregivers, Kathleen Archon, Tawana Archon, Terry Mallet, Chloe Berry , and Amanda Dup for their extraordinary care and compassion. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 2:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Friday.
