Beverly Dupuis Melancon

Henderson - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson for Beverly Dupuis "Meyon" Melancon, 80, who died Friday, September, 2, 2005 at her residence. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in Henderson. Mrs. Melancon was the owner and operator of the Henderson Superette. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and was a member of the Adult Choir and the Ladies Altar Society. Survivors include her husband, Arvillien June Melancon of Henderson; her son Gregory J. Guidroz, Sr. and his wife, Peggy Hebert Guidroz of Breaux Bridge; her daughter, Nancy Guidroz of Henderson; three step children, Judy Theriot of Henderson, Vicky Melancon of Breaux Bridge and Larry Melancon of Kentucky; her brother, Hamey Dupuis of Henderson; her sister, Hazel Dupuis Bijeaux of Henderson; two grandchildren, Greg J. Guidroz, Jr. of Colorado and Shantelle Scott of Breaux Bridge; two great grandchildren, Kylie and McKenzie Scott; five step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Guidroz; and her parents, Joswell and Gladys Hebert Dupuis. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 12 Noon on Monday, September 5, 2005 and continue at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Ste. 200, Lafayette, LA 70503. Pellerin Funeral Home of Henderson is in charge of arrangements.
