Birdie Dupuis Guidry

Henderson - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson, for Birdie Marie Dupuis Guidry, 84, who passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Entombment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum, in Henderson. Fr. Chanh Nguyen, Pastor of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, will officiate at the funeral Mass. Mrs. Guidry loved working in her yard. ?She enjoyed helping her church parish by serving in the Ladies Altar Society and she especially loved singing in the church choir. ?Her family was the greatest joy in her life, as well as chatting on the phone with family and friends. Survivors include one son, Burton Guidry and his wife, Renella, of Cecilia; three daughters, Doris G. Patin and her husband, Earl ""To-Bit"", of Henderson, Loula G. Guidry and her husband, John Carey, of Cecilia, and Billie G. Myers and her husband, Ward Tilly, of Lafayette; 14 grandchildren, Keith Patin, Kelly Patin, Tammie P. Savoy, Ronna Guidry, Paige G. Theriot, Rohde Guidry, Dawn G. Allemond, Shawn Guidry, Keri G. Lanerie, Chad Guidry, Lyle Guidry, Mark Guidry, Chance Myers, and Jude Myers; 25 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Misses Boyer Dupuis; her husband, Ivan Guidry; a son, Errol Guidry; four brothers, Gussie, George, Percy, and Lee Roy Dupuis; a son-in-law, Mitchell ""Pat"" Myers; and a granddaughter, Kacie Myers. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday and continue at 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Keith and Kelly Patin, Chance and Jude Myers, Rohde and Shawn Guidry, and Chad, Lyle, and Mark Guidry. Honorary pallbearers will be Corie Lanerie, Alex Allemond, Ned Theriot, and Burt Savoy. Pellerin Funeral Home of Henderson is in charge of arrangements.
