Catahoula - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 6, 2022, at St. Rita Catholic Church in for Blake Comeaux, 42, who passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall, (4452 Catahoula Hwy. (Hwy. 96), Catahoula, LA 70582), from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm on Sunday and continue on Monday at 8:00 am until 12:45 pm.
A rosary will be prayed by Jackie Schexnayder at 7:00 pm on Sunday.
Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reader will be Jackie Schexnayder.
Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
Blake, known to many as "Pecón", was born on May 21, 1980. He worked as a commercial fisherman and was a former volunteer firefighter with the Catahoula Fire Department. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler, crawfishing, and fighting roosters. Pecón was an old soul and knew everyone and who they were related to. He always had a joke to tell and would make anyone laugh. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Joannie Barras Comeaux; his children, Gideon Doucet, Hannah Comeaux, and Avery Comeaux; father, Carroll Comeaux; brothers, Brian Comeaux (Ashley) and Brad Comeaux (Crystal); sister, Brittany Stelly (Chad); father-in-law, Dale Barras; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Alleman Comeaux; and his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Barras.
Pallbearers will be Brian Comeaux, Brad Comeaux, Keith Smith, Thomas Venable, Dale Barras Jr., and Zachary Barras.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gideon Doucet, Avery Comeaux, Dalton Dupuis, and Paul Robin.
Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
