BreauxBridge - Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge, for Blake Amos McCarty, 24, who died on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at his residence.
Rev. Ned Theriot will conduct the funeral service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.
A graduate of Affiliated Blind of Louisiana, Blake enjoyed listening to music, playing video games, and watching wrestling, but more than anything else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Despite his disabilities, he never considered himself disabled and lived his life to the fullest. He will be sadly missed and was loved by everyone who met him.
Survivors include his mother, Tonya McCarty and Chad Huval; his brother, Chase Lafont and Lindsey David; his sister, Chassie Huval; and his niece, Tatum Lafont.
Blake is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Teresa McCarty; Penny and Bobby Navarre; Roy McCarty and Tonia Estillette; Roger and Monique McCarty; Kay and Robert Laneaux; Jimmy McCarty; and his cousins, Kolin and Maci McCarty, Robbie and Kyle Laneaux, Chris Hamilton, Logan and Lauren Allen, Tyler and Peggy Huval, and Dylan and Austin McCarty.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roy and Peggy McCarty.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday and continue on Tuesday at 8 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Logan Allen, Jordy Castille, Harley Morvant, Dustin Noel, Dylan McCarty, and Adam Wellborn.
Pellerin Funeral Homeof BreauxBridge is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to assist in defraying the funeral expenses.
