VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Bob Owens, 63, who passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2010 in Lafayette. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, in Jeanerette Rev. David Denton will officiate. Born on March 4, 1947, Bob is a former deputy of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff Department, and was a yacht builder having worked for Gulf Craft, and Broward Marine. A veteran of the US Army, he enjoyed carpentry, golf, fishing, and being outdoors. Survivors include his daughter, Angela Owen Fleet and husband Mitchell of Spring, Texas; sister, Irene Guillotte of Jeanerette; brothers, Whitney Owens, Jr. and wife Juanita of New Iberia, Jimmy Owens, Sr. and wife Shannon of Jeanerette, Steve Owens, Sr. and wife Darlene of Jeanerette; grandchildren, Victoria, Noah, and Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Whitney Owens, Sr. and Evelina Broussard Owens; and a brother, David Owens. Pallbearers will be Steve Owens, Sr., Rene Owens, Randy Owens, Sr., Rusty Owens, Jason Broussard, and Frank Myers. Honorary pallbearers include Jimmy Owens, Sr. and Whitney Owens, Jr. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia.
