Bounoum Nounay

Youngsville - Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Bounoum Nounay, 59, who passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Saturday, and will continue on Sunday from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Rev. Khamphouvieng Keophavong will be the Officiant. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia. A longtime area resident, Mr. Bounoum Nounay was born in Vientiane, Laos on October 10, 1958. He worked at a seafood processor, and was a very skilled carpenter and avid vegetable gardener. He loved children and spending time with his family, but above all else, he loved his wife, Phounton. Bounoum is survived by the love of his life, Phounton Keohavong; daughters, Manivanh Johnson and husband Fred, and Kelly Chanthavong, all of Canada; six other children in Laos; brother, Soukha Nounay of Michigan; sisters, Sengeum Faramee of France, Ta Boliboun of Thailand, Vila Boliboun of Laos, Southana Nguyen of Indiana, Rattana Kaomixay of Indiana, and Arouyama Keohavong of Tennessee; mother-in-law, Lady Keohavong; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Hin Boliboun; and mother, Bounpahn Nounay. Pallbearers will be Dremone Bounyaseng, Viengsamone Bounyaseng, Phanoumsone Bounyaseng, Sittiphone Bounyaseng, Noah Bounyasent, Joseph Keohavong, and Sampson Keohavong. Honorary pallbearers are Haven Bounyaseng and Joseph Chanthavong. Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, (337-365-3331) is in charge of arrangements.
